Rue's February Issue

Thanks to Annie, over at Annie Loveridge Interiors, for reminding me it was time to catch up on some lovely online magazines. Rue's latest issue is out, and, as always, it's a great read. Here's a sneak peek, and some of my favourite images found within...

A great idea for those old vintage oars, which make great art

You can't go wrong with furniture that has beautiful lines (and curves)

Lovely fresh bathroom with a Scandinavian feel

I featured this on my FB page recently - love the subway tiles, the pendant lights & the '3'

I love to have my favourite little items on display

The little pillows are fab. I 100% agree with their 'humor' comment - make your home a fun place to live

A Little Slice of Morocco in Paris

Is anyone feeling blue today? Here's the perfect little house tour to cheer you up... You would swear you were in Morocco when you come across the beautiful blue studded front door, but in fact it's just outside Paris. The owner, Conny, travels a lot with her work and many of her souvenirs find their way into her home. The front door was her first big purchase from Morocco, and that set the tone for the rest of her beautiful home.

Schuyler Samperton

Today I came across the work of Los Angeles based interior designer Schuyler Samperton. It's all pretty gorgeous so I knew I had to share some with you. Schuyler is best known for her modern-classic style - an imaginative blend of low-key and elegant pieces with a youthful, West Coast flair.

The Home of Amber Lewis

I'm absolutely head over heels in love with this home. It belongs to Amber Lewis of Amber Interiors. What I love most about her 1960's Californian ranch style home is her use of fabulous colour, pattern & texture introduced in rugs, cushions, and furniture. Keeping the backdrop neutral allows this to work without being overpowering, and also enables you to easily change the look as you want. Top of my current wish list are several rugs for our home - the classic black & white Ikea rug is a must, and I have my eye on a couple of beauties from Loom in Melbourne (must go and buy a Lotto ticket today!).

Nama Rococo

On my travels in the big wide world of web I come across a lot of incredible things and I'm constantly inspired. But sometimes you find something that's above and beyond anything you've seen recently. This was the case today...

I spied an extremely cool wall on a blog today with hand drawn geometric patterns (and you all know how much I'm into geometric shapes!). On closer inspection I discovered the pattern was in fact a wallpaper. When I kept searching I found the company that created it is called Nama Rococo, and they have the most gorgeous range of luxurious hand painted, hand printed wallpaper. Serious drooling when I saw the collection, and as well as buying rolls of the paper, you can order a single sheet of any design and treat it like a piece of art - perfect for framing.

Pinterest

I love, and have used Pinterest for about a year now. I know most of you will know all about it, and some of you may even have found me via there. I've seen quite a lot of my images pinned on people's pages, and it always makes me smile.

Quickly, for those who don't know about it, Pinterest lets you organise and share all the beautiful things you find on the web. People use pinboards to plan their weddings, decorate their homes, and organise their favourite recipes.

Well, I've finally, Finally made a start on my own boards! It's been quite time consuming to set up, but once it is, it's really quick and easy to pin great images as you come across them. I've got three boards so far, and plan to add more as I find the time.

These are images from a board I've just started following, called 'Colourful Homes' - sounds like me, huh?! It's run by Rice Denmark - I love Rice products and stock some in our shop.

And this is an example of what I've been pinning. Most are straight from my blog, but I'll start adding ones from other websites as I come across them.

Cover It Up

Probably the most popular use of glass domes is to use them to cover food, maybe a cake - it's covered, but still on display. But you can use them to display just about anything that takes your fancy, and that fits, and that looks fabulous. And it works with any kind of glass vessel - dome, vase, jar, wineglass...
