SE3 Giveaway (Now Closed)

Do you remember back here when I blogged about the gorgeous Danish OYOY range of homeware? I had all my fingers and toes crossed that we'd get a New Zealand stockist in the near future, and I'm excited to say that now we do...

SE3 is an online store founded by Fiona Shine, who lives in Auckland with her husband and gorgeous kids. With a passion for interiors, Fiona wanted a job that would fulfil that love, and make her excited to get to work each day. SE3 offers carefully handpicked products from around the world and New Zealand, including some from the beautiful OYOY range, and lots more.

If that hasn't already got your heart racing, this certainly will... Fiona has kindly offered to giveaway this stunning Mumi Plaid Blanket from OYOY worth $125. Just what you need in these cooler months to snuggle up in style. Measuring 120 x 150cm the geometric black and white blanket is edged in ice-blue and made from the softest, highest quality cotton.

To enter simply 'like' SE3 on Facebook, and also 'like' this Facebook post on the Cush & Nooks page. Once you've done that email me to let me know - don't forget this step, as this is how I will get hold of you if you're the lucky winner. The winner will be announced this Friday 4th July on my Facebook page, and contacted by email. Good luck!

THIS COMPETITION HAS NOW CLOSED. CONGRATULATIONS TO RACHAEL WYETH-BARNES!

Fashion Match | Three Ways

I love matching fashion and interiors, as you can see here. There's definitely a strong correlation between the two - people's wardrobes give you a strong indication of their interior style. I've picked three outfits I'm loving at the moment to match to a room.

My favourite pants right now are these super comfy 'swag pants' from Moochi. Dress them up or down, and don't they look fantastic with a classic striped tee?!

I love this shirt style 'Amelie Coco' dress from Mister Zimi. It looks fantastic teamed with their gorgeous 'chestnut Juno boots'.

Augustine is another favourite label of mine, and I love the colour blocking in this hot pink 'Freya split cardi' - cute and cosy.

Bibby + Brady Shop

Last week I told you that my Cush & Nooks online shop will be transitioning into a Bibby + Brady online shop. Some of the stock will remain the same, but we will be introducing lots of exciting new products that we love to work with in our interior projects. Some will be our own designs, and others from our favourite suppliers.

It will be a gradual process, but I will keep you up to date with progress. At the moment you can access the shop by clicking on the 'Cush & Nooks online shop' ad in the top right hand panel of this blog, or by clicking on the 'shop' page in our Bibby + Brady website. Our new web address is shop.bibbyandbrady.co.nz and we will be redirecting traffic from my old address shortly. Here are some photos featuring a few of our pieces that will be on offer. Thanks for your patience as we transition, and feel free to email me in the meantime if you have any questions, or any requests for items you'd like to see us stock.

Marimekko Spring Style

As we try and keep warm in the midst of our Southern Hemisphere winter, I thought I'd brighten up your day with some gorgeous images from the Marimekko Home Spring 2014 collection. I absolutely love the mix of bold patterns, and the beautiful, relaxed styling.

If you live in New Zealand, check out Bolt of Cloth for a great selection of Marimekko fabric and homeware.

Handira Blanket | Three Ways

I've long admired the beauty of the Handira, or Moroccan wedding blanket. They bring a beautiful texture, subtle pattern, and a touch of Bohemian chic to a space. The blankets are hand woven from sheep's wool, cotton, linen, and hundreds of mirrored sequins, by the Berber women of the Middle Atlas Mountains in Morocco. They're created in anticipation of a wedding by the bride's female relatives, and can take days, even weeks to complete. The blanket is worn by the bride as a cape during the ceremony, and after the wedding she takes it to her new home.

I've just acquired one of these Moroccan wedding blankets (much to my delight!), and I'm now deciding where it should go in our home. I first thought I'd put it at the end of our bed...

Maybe as a throw on our sofa...

But I also love the idea of hanging it on the wall...

Which do you prefer? If you're interested in a Handira for your own home, send me an email, I can help you with your purchase.

Cool Edies' Style at Home

For some time now I've been a big fan of the bold and edgy work of the super stylist Sydney duo, Lucy Tweed and Jane Frosh, aka Cool Edies. The pair have worked on some incredible events, and with some amazing names, so I was really excited to come across a sneak peek into both their homes recently on the homelife website.

Lucy shares her home with her husband and son, Andrew and James, and has a new baby on the way. As I imagined, her home is effortlessly cool with lots of gorgeous, eclectic pieces that help create a home with loads of personality and style.

Jane has a similar family dynamic to me with a husband, three lovely kids, and three dogs. I absolutely love her marriage of vintage and industrial, and it's exciting to see someone who likes to mix patterns as much as I do.

Pop over to homelife for more details, and to the Cool Edies website to read more about Lucy and Jane's work.

Leather Sofa Love

To be honest I've always favoured fabric sofas over leather sofas, but I have to say there is always an exception, and for me, beaten up, cognac leather sofas are it! They just seem to ooze personality and 'coolness'. See what I mean?!...
