Neometro Developments

I came across this gorgeous Melbourne apartment recently on Yellowtrace - a fantastic blog by interior designer, Dana Tomic Hughes. The apartment block in the heart of Fitzroy, Melbourne, was a heritage redevelopment by Neometro. Working with MA Architects and Grant Amon Architects, it was a lesson is subtlety with the aim to meld the historic and new in a thoughtful manner.

The building comprises of 15 one and two bedroom apartments with a distinct New York loft feel.

I was so impressed with the design that I spent quite some time exploring the Neometro website and drinking in their current and previous projects. The same clean, innocuous aesthetic can be found in all their work. Another favourite of mine is Airlie Bank in South Yarra, Melbourne. Eight contemporary apartments all boast the same understated elegance. Everything looks so simple, but you can just see the exceptional quality of the furniture and materials used. Beautiful!
