Jessie's Bedroom Makeover

I particularly love the black & white with the bright colours

I posted this image recently and commented on how it had inspired me to make-over my eldest daughter's room. She is nearly nine years old and I'd love to give her a really 'cool' room where she can hang out with her friends, listen to music and read about her fav celeb, Selena Gomez. If anyone has any recommendations on where I could find great bedding and rugs (I really like the graphic, geometric look in the room above), please let me know.

This room also has the feel I'm going for - young and fun, but a little more grown up

Jess is an animal lover and this poster would be perfect for her wall

Cute striped rug in sorbet colours from Kidzspace

I also love the contrast of the vivid colours against the black in this rug

PBTeen (Pottery Barn) now ships to NZ and has a neat range of bedding and furniture for teens and tweens

  1. She's going to be so happy with her new grown up bedroom! (I will keep an eye out for bedding & rugs)

  2. What a fun project Vic! Can't wait to see what you come up with :)

  3. Gorgeous inspirations! I'm loving that colorful leaf bedding. Enjoy the fabulous day, Kellie xx

  4. I just ordered some great bedding from Heals (UK). They don't send to NZ but if you know anyone there you could ask them to send on for you. Castle and Things in Aus also lovely (if you can extend the mortgage)! Rugs...mmmm, we need Ikea. I think Myflatpack have stopped doing small orders but you could check? We grow all this wool and we can't get all those lovely NZ wool rugs we see! Have a lovely weekend. Annie x.

  5. Thanks for your comments girls. Annie, I love Castle and Things, have just bought a couple of their yellow velvet pompom cushions - so nice to snuggle up with! Would love some of their artwork too (one day), and you're right, their sheets & pillowcases would be great for Jess. Also love the Heals website, but don't know anyone in the UK right now. xxx

It's lovely to hear from you. Thanks for your comment. Best wishes, Vic xxx
