Bringing The Outside In
With winter fast approaching here in the Southern Hemisphere I have found myself drawn to luscious green leafy indoor plants. Maybe it's because the flowers aren't quite as plentiful this time of the year. Or it could be my attempt to connect with the outdoors, even when the rain's forced me inside. Whatever the reason, in a pot or a in a vase, these plants bring great texture, colour, and life to a space.

I am 100 percent with you on this! It's amazing what a difference having some greenery in a room makes...to the room and also to my mood x
ReplyDeleteI'm so with you Fiona, I'm on the hunt for the perfect big leafy tree for the corner of my sitting room. x
DeleteWhat is the name of the board-leafed plant in most of the pictures?
DeleteHi Rachel, they're a fig plant. The official name if Fiddle Leaf Fig, or Ficus Lyrata. We have one in our sitting room, and it looks fabulous. x
DeleteHi Vic,
DeleteWhere do you source this plant from? Would love to know!
Most good plant shops will have them. I got mine from Oderings, but if you don't have one of those close, just ask your local plant shop about fig trees for indoors.
DeleteI can't get enough of indoor greenery right now, especially in bright white interiors. I'm drooling over all of these images! x
ReplyDeleteGreen and white is such a gorgeous contrast and fresh colour scheme Michelle. x
Deleteyes I agree! I just have a problem keeping them alive inside! Maybe you have to take the plants out for sunlight everyday etc so they stay healthy! a gardener I certainly am not! lovT
ReplyDeleteI have to admit Tina, my husband is the green fingered one in our family. But hopefully with his help I can keep mine healthy. x
