I've mentioned before how much I love entranceways, they are your first impression of the home you're about to enter. I posted this photo (below) on my Facebook page this morning, because... to put it bluntly... it's freaking amazing! The numbers caught my eye first, as I'm a fan of numbers & typography. But when you keep looking there are so many beautiful elements, in what is really quite a simple, uncluttered space.
It is the London home of Karine - half of the incredible Bodie and Fou sisters - and her Kiwi husband, Steve, and their daughter, Mila. Bodie and Fou is one of my favourite blogs and online stores, so it's no surprise that this home appeals to me so much. One of my FB 'friends' was curious to see what the rest of the house looked like, so here it is. It seems to be an ever-changing home, so some of these photos may have dated, but it shows the fabulous style that we expected after seeing their entrance.

Mix It Up
Any of my friends will tell you I'm a pretty cruisy sort of person. This is exactly the reason I love the relaxed styling of mismatched chairs - you see it quite a lot these days. Following are some examples that I really like.

I adore this table, can just imagine a big group of friends gathered around. A great mix of chairs - wood, plastic, metal, and various colours & form. |

A delicious trio of vintage stools |

The same chairs on both sides but varying fabric. And then the yellow chair at the end ties in with the colours. |

A mix of styles, but all in the colour theme of black, white & blue |

A very serene surrounding, and a lovely burst of cool green and warm wood tones |

I love the use of a bench seat on one side |

Also a successful look is different styles but all in the same colour |

Dream Kid's Room Makeover
There is a TV programme in Sweden called Fixa Rummet. From what I can understand (it's all in Swedish) they find children who are dissatisfied with their bedrooms, and 'fix' them, creating their dream rooms. This one belongs to the adorable brother and sister, Kaspian and Nike.
Kaspian wants to be a vet so his room is filled with animals, and Nike has a little pink nook under the stairs below her big brother's room. For more photos click here.

Old printers trays are great for displaying small toys |

An old cabinet has been turned into a hospital for all the sick toys |

I have previously featured a DIY handle project here similar to Kaspian's dinosur handles |
