Anna Spiro, owner of Black & Spiro, and her blog Absolutely Beautiful Things does it so well. I have included a couple of examples below from Anna's blog. I could've added hundreds, but, if you haven't already, you should check out her blog for more pattern inspiration.

I love it too Vic. In a country of 'Resene Tea' I think it is perfect! I hope you had a lovely first day of school and your girls are happy. Annie x
ReplyDeleteI'm a bit more is more with these things Vic! I love a good mix of patterns. And you're right, Anna is the pattern mixing queen!

I love the black and white console in front of your stunning Designer Guild paper. At first glance you could almost feel the black and white flower pattern in the wallpaper not disimilar to the inlay in the console.
ReplyDeleteI am thinking of using some wallpaper as a feature wall in my hallway. I have an angled wall as you come in the entrance that I think could be perfect for a lovely paper. You have certainly inspired me.
If you have more photos of the furniture in a home setting I would love you to send me some images so I can put a post together Vic.

I love the look but I must admit to being less confident to try it in my own home... not sure why really because it obviously works! Have I mentioned how much I love the handles on the console??!
ReplyDeleteSuch great advice Vic! I'm a real wimp when it comes to colour and pattern - thank goodness for lovely design blogs like yours that keep pushing me to be more brave!
ReplyDeleteYou are spot on. I like the combo you created a LOT!!!

I think there are enough similarities that the wallpaper definitely works with the console! It really picks up the black/white on the wallpaper too :) xo K
