Anzac Day

Today is Anzac Day, a national day of remembrance in New Zealand and Australia for all of those who lost their lives while serving our countries in war and peacekeeping operations.

They shall grow not old.
As we that are left grow old,
Age shall not weary them,
Nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun,
And in the morning
We will remember them.

I don't mean to trivialise the day in any way, not at all. But I would like to celebrate the enormous talent we have in New Zealand and Australia by showing you the homes of two incredibly talented designers. Both have very different styles, both fabulous in their own special way. The first is the home of Karen Walker, our very own internationally renowned fashion designer. You can see more photos at The Selby.

And this is the home of inspirational Australian artist and designer, Rachel Castle. Her art brings joy, and no home is complete without a Castle pillowcase or two (in my humble opinion). See more of her home at The Design Files.

  1. Wow!
When you enter such home, you see that the creative people live there...

  2. Lovely post Vic on such a special day for us Aussies and kiwis :) have a great one!

  3. I think it's the perfect occasion to showcase some serious NZ and Aus talent. x

  4. I love both of these talented ladies and what amazing homes! Great post for Anzac Day Vic - thanks for sharing x

  5. They are both so different. One with a very clean streamlined look and focus on photography art and the other with a more laid back lived-in feel. But, I think I love them both. And love all the dotted pillows in the second one.

  6. Love this house, all all all... and the pompons!!!

It's lovely to hear from you. Thanks for your comment. Best wishes, Vic xxx
